Who We Are
We are SIMPL Financial Solutions, Inc., a Delaware corporation based in Golden, Colorado. We build Nexa, a business command center for solopreneurs, available at getnexa.tools.
This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data. We wrote this to be clear and honest, not to bury things in legal jargon.
Data We Collect
Marketing site (getnexa.tools)
- Anonymous browsing data via our own first-party analytics: page views, tool selections in the calculator, calculator interactions, and comparison page visits.
- This data is stored with an anonymous UUID and is not linked to your identity unless you later make a purchase.
Biz Wiz ($19.99 business plan session)
- Name and email address (for account creation and session access).
- Payment information, processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card numbers.
- Conversation history with Larry (our AI business coach).
- Business plan data generated during your session.
Larry chat (free, on marketing pages)
- Conversation messages you send to Larry. These are processed via the Claude API through our Supabase proxy.
- No account or personal information is required to chat with Larry on marketing pages.
Nexa app (desktop/mobile)
- Your Nexa data — customers, jobs, notes, invoices, expenses and schedule — is stored locally on your device. We do not have access to it, with the specific exceptions below. Most of them are things you trigger. One is not: the Local Pros listing happens on its own, so we have put it first rather than third.
- Listing your business in Local Pros. Nexa runs a public directory of local operators, so that customers can find and book the people who use it. When you are signed in and your business is ready to be found — you have entered a business name, a city or service area, and at least one service marked bookable — we create a listing for you and keep it up to date. This is the one exception you do not press a button for: it happens when you sign in, and again when you change your service area. The listing publishes your business name, your trade, your city and state, and the names of the services you marked bookable. It is published at getnexa.tools/local-pros/ — a page of your own, which is the page a customer books you from, and the trade and city listings there that point to it; some of those pages can be found through search engines. We also keep the email address on your Nexa account with the listing, so booking requests reach you. Nothing else goes with it — not your customers, jobs, notes, invoices, expenses or schedule. If you would rather not be listed, email support@getnexa.tools and we will remove it.
- Translating a note. When you press the translate button on a note, that note’s body is sent to the Anthropic Claude API and the translation comes back. It passes through one of our own Supabase functions on the way, so the text does cross our server in transit. Only the body text is sent — not the title, tags, folder, linked contact, attachments, or any account identifier. It is sent only on that button press. We write it to no table of ours and keep it in no log of ours.
- Emailing an invoice, estimate or reminder to your customer. When you send one from the app, the document, the subject line and your customer’s email address pass through one of our Supabase functions and are delivered by Resend, our email provider. Your own account email is set as the reply-to address, so their reply reaches you and not us. We keep a delivery record — the address it went to, the subject line, and whether it was accepted — so a message that fails can be traced. We do not add your customers to any list of ours and we never email them on our own account.
- Scheduling a report. If you schedule a report to be sent regularly, we store the recipient’s email address, the report and the schedule on our server, because the sending happens on a timer rather than on your device. Delete the schedule and that stops.
- Cloud Sync. If you turn it on, the data you sync is stored in our Supabase backend so it can reach your other devices, back up automatically and support team workspaces. It is optional and off unless you turn it on. Cloud Sync is $4.99/month, included free for your first three months with a Nexa or SIMPL licence; when those three months end, syncing simply stops. Nothing is charged automatically and your data stays on your device. You turn Cloud Sync on inside the app by signing in on each device you want it on — we email a one-tap link, and there is also a 6-digit code, a device-link code, Google, or an email and password. The subscription that keeps it running after the included three months is handled on our website, not inside the app.
- Dictating a note out loud. If you use the microphone button to dictate instead of typing, your browser’s own speech recognition does the listening. In Chrome and Microsoft Edge that is not done on your device: the audio is streamed to the browser maker’s speech service and comes back as text. Because Nexa on Windows runs in Microsoft Edge, that maker is Microsoft. The audio goes to them under their privacy policy, not to us — we never receive it, and we only ever see the text their service hands back, which then stays on your device. If you would rather no audio left your device, type the note instead.
- Everything else in the app runs on your device. That includes what happens to a note once the text exists, whether you typed it or dictated it: the parsing that suggests a note type, tags, follow-up dates and a matching contact as you type is plain text matching inside the app, against the contacts already on your device, and nothing about it is sent anywhere. Larry, our AI assistant, is on our website and is not part of the Nexa app.
- Your device’s own backups are outside our control. Windows, macOS, Android, iOS or your browser may include app data in a system backup, under settings you own and can change — for Nexa on Windows the most likely route is your browser profile sync, since the app runs in Microsoft Edge. When that happens the copy goes to the maker of your operating system or browser under their privacy policy, not to us: we neither trigger it nor receive anything from it, and we have no access to that copy. We have not enabled the Microsoft Store setting that would allow Windows to include Nexa’s data in automatic backups. To exclude Nexa entirely, turn that backup off in your device settings.
How We Use Your Data
- To improve our products and understand how people use our tools.
- To deliver services you have purchased (Biz Wiz sessions, Cloud Sync).
- To communicate with you about your purchases (receipts, session access, support).
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your data with data brokers.
Third-Party Services
We use a small number of third-party services to run Nexa:
- Stripe — Payment processing. Stripe handles all payment data under their own privacy policy.
- Plaid — Bank account connections. When you choose to link a bank account, Plaid securely retrieves your transactions and balances on your behalf. See the Bank Connections section below for details and your consent.
- Supabase — Backend infrastructure (database, authentication, serverless functions).
- Anthropic Claude API — Powers Larry, our AI assistant on our website, and note translation in the Nexa app. Both are generative AI features. Messages you send to Larry, and note text you choose to translate, are sent to Claude for processing. Note text is sent only when you press translate.
- ElevenLabs — Voice synthesis for Larry on the demo tour.
- Google Fonts — Typography (Oswald, Inter). Google may collect anonymized usage data.
- Reddit — Advertising measurement. Our marketing pages load the Reddit Pixel, which tells Reddit when a visit or conversion happens and receives a pseudonymous visitor ID we generate. It receives no email address, phone number, or advertising identifier, and it does not run inside the apps.
- Resend — Email delivery. Receipts, sign-in links, purchase confirmations and support replies are sent through Resend, which therefore handles your email address and the contents of those messages.
- Belvo — Bank connections in Latin America, the equivalent of Plaid for those countries. If you connect a Mexican or Colombian bank account, Belvo retrieves your transactions and balances on your behalf. Connecting a bank is optional and Nexa works fully without it.
- Facturama — Mexican electronic invoicing (CFDI). If you issue a CFDI invoice from Nexa, the invoice details — including your tax ID and your customer’s — are sent to Facturama, who file it with the SAT on your behalf.
- Cloudflare — Site hosting and content delivery.
Bank Connections (Plaid)
If you choose to connect a bank account, we use Plaid Inc. (“Plaid”) to gather your financial data from your financial institution. By connecting a financial account, you grant Nexa and Plaid the right, power, and authority to act on your behalf to access and transmit your personal and financial information from the relevant financial institution. You agree to your personal and financial information being transferred, stored, and processed by Plaid in accordance with the Plaid End User Privacy Policy.
Connecting a bank account is entirely optional — Nexa works fully without it. You can disconnect a linked account at any time, after which we stop retrieving new data from that institution.
Cookies & Local Storage
We use localStorage for anonymous visitor tracking and session state. This allows Larry to understand your browsing journey across pages without requiring an account.
We set one cookie, nexa_ref, and only if you arrive through a creator's referral link. It holds that creator's code for 90 days so they get credit if you buy something. It is first-party and contains no personal information. The Reddit Pixel described below also sets its own cookie, _rdt_uuid, on the marketing pages where it runs; it identifies a browser to Reddit and carries nothing about you that we supply. Apart from those two, we set no cookies.
We use one advertising pixel: the Reddit Pixel, on our marketing pages only. It tells Reddit that a visit or a conversion happened so we can measure which ads work. We send it a pseudonymous visitor ID that we generate ourselves — we do not send it your email address, your phone number, or any advertising identifier.
It does not run inside the Nexa or SIMPL apps, on your dashboard, at checkout, or on any page where you are working with your own data. We do not use Facebook, Google, TikTok, or any other advertising pixel, and we do not use third-party tracking cookies.
Data Retention
- Biz Wiz sessions: Active for 90 days after purchase, then switch to read-only access. Your PDF business plan is yours forever.
- First-party analytics data: Kept while it is useful for understanding how the site is used. We do not currently delete it on an automatic schedule, so we would rather say that than promise a timer we do not run. It is anonymous unless you later make a purchase, and you can ask us to remove anything tied to you at any time.
- Cloud Sync data: Retained while Cloud Sync is active on your account. If it lapses or you stop using it, syncing stops and your device keeps everything. The copy on our servers stays until you ask us to remove it — email support@getnexa.tools and we will delete it.
Your Rights
You can request deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing support@getnexa.tools. We will process your request within 30 days.
California residents (CCPA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, request disclosure of that information, and request deletion. We do not sell personal information. Contact us at the email above to exercise these rights.
Children's Privacy
Biz Wiz includes a "Kid Hustles" track designed for young entrepreneurs ages 10-17 with parent or guardian involvement. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 without verified parental consent. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
