Bellevue is home to about 151,000 people. The above-average cost of living means music producers charge more for services — but their software costs the same as everywhere else. The subscription trap hits harder in expensive markets.
Music Producers in Washington need a Business License. Requirements vary — contact your city or county business licensing office for current details.
Insurance: $500K-$1M general liability
Continuing Education: Check with state licensing board
Washington has no state income tax. Every dollar you save on software stays in your pocket. The $465 annual savings from switching to Nexa is real money — not reduced by state taxes.
Whether you call it payment tracking, a platform for jobs, or a invoicing system — most music producers in Bellevue patch together FreshBooks, Wave, HoneyBook plus other subscriptions. That's $744/year paying for software subscriptions. Over the next 5 years at today's prices, that adds up to $3,720.
With Nexa, you own your tools. Your CRM, payment tracking, appointment management, jobs, time tracking, and financial tools — under one roof in a single platform. One tap books a client. One tap generates an invoice. No bouncing between tools. No integration hacks. No add-on costs. It's a single payment — keep more revenue from day one. For music producers in Bellevue weighing the switch, the 30-day money-back guarantee covers the migration window — you can run Nexa in parallel with your existing subscriptions, verify the workflow handles your real client load, and only cancel the monthly tools once you are confident the data and processes have settled in.
Most of my work is producing songs for independent artists. A project starts with the artist sending a rough demo, a voice memo and a guitar, and a few reference tracks for the sound they want. From there I'm building the arrangement: drums, bass, chords and the parts that make the chorus lift, then recording vocals, often over several sessions, directing takes until the performance is right. Editing is detailed work, comping the best takes, tuning where it's needed without making it robotic, and tightening the timing. Then the mix: balancing every part, EQ and compression, effects, and making it sound good on headphones, in a car and on a phone. I send versions, the artist sends notes, and we revise. Mastering is sometimes me and sometimes a specialist. Everything is agreed up front: my fee, how many revisions, and who owns what, including any royalty points on the master. I also sell beats and sample packs online. I take a deposit before the session and the balance before I send the final files.
That is the work Nexa is built around: the job, the client, the hours and the invoice live in one place, so the paperwork side of the day doesn't need a second shift.
Every one of those was bought once and earns its keep for years. Nexa is priced the same way: $279 once, and it keeps working whether business is busy or slow.

Open on Reddit →We build a music producer's guide the same way every time, and we'd rather you trust it than take it on faith. Nexa is our product, so the test we hold ourselves to is simple: a tool only "wins" a job here when it genuinely does that job better for a music producer — and where something free, open-source, or buy-once does it better, we say so and link you to it. Where Nexa falls short (payroll is the honest example), we name the alternative outright.
